[Description]
Solstice is a scrawny looking black-haired human. She has deathly pale skin, large fangs, and a well-rehearsed piercing stare that gives her an undeniably vampiric appearance. Unusual to the realm of shadowrunners, her cyberware has been installed to look inconspicuous as such, and look like her original limbs, so as to lend credibility to the idea of HMHVV-fueled vampiric strength.
[Background]
Alice hails from the underbelly of the shadows of London, where she worked as a fence of all kinds of hot items. Despite being a human, she grew up poor, and managed to make a name for herself amongst a local population of outcast metahumans: trolls, orks, junkies, ghouls, and every other "menace to society" one can think of.
Early on, Alice found that she had the Gift: a decently powerful grasp of magic. She honed her craft over the years, starting off using magic to get away with various kinds of pickpocketing and other kinds of theft, and eventually moved up to the point of selling off other people's stolen goods so as to not have to commit the thefts herself.
In time, she built up a decent repuation as the magical item and information broker known as Solstice. Unfortunately, there are always a decent amount of occupational hazards to any criminal career. Her life turned around when a deal with a particular vampiric lowlife, a regular of Solstice's business, went up in the air. Solstice had put her guard down, and ended up getting attacked by this vampire, who had decided he didn't really want to pay for the info he wanted.
Solstice managed to fend the goon off, as she always had, but not after he had managed to get a solid chunk of her flesh into his mouth, lacing it with the ever-so-potent Ghilani-Vrykolakividae strain of HMHVV. Needless to say, Solstice was soon onset by the crippling symptoms of her body fighting off the disease. She had seen it happen enough times to know what would happen from here: she'd either finally get to really feel what it was like to be one with the local community, or she'd be dead from the stress on her immune system. She put out her prayers, desperate to live, but knowing full well that medicine was beyond helping her. Solstice felt the tug of the void calling to her, but, miraculously enough, through some obscene quirk of the universe, or through the sheer unpredictible nature of the magic itself in HMHVV, the forces beyond decided that it wasn't her time to go yet.
Slowly enough, the fever began to subside and Solstice's body started to recover from the shock of what it had just gone through, but an realisation of the the unthinkable came to Solstice: there was no hunger. Her body was still hers. Anywhere else in the world, and that would have been the best moment of some poor sap's entire *life*, but to Solstice it was an outstandingly dangerous position that she had just been put into.
There was a decent population of infected and other such folk around, and by now, the lowlife who bit her would have bragged all over about it. All of them would be painfully aware that in the face of Strain I of HMHVV, you do not live. To be seen as miraculously still human and not dead would be a death sentence: superstition is strong in the slums, and it would be a question of when, not if, some desperate infected chap would rip her limb from limb, hoping that devouring her could transfer her miracle cure. Or there'd be the violence out of sheer spite.
But, as Solstice thought, there was not much of a need to contemplate all the possibilities and find out what would happen. She took every last credit in her name that she had stashed away, and covertly went to see a local street doc who happened to owe her a massive favour. A hefty transfer of liquid funds, followed by a hefty set of custom surgical procedures later, and Solstice was back in the business; reputation turning more solid than it had ever been, now being looked upon as a powerful vampire who was unfazed by her condition. Solstice was the kind of person who, despite running a business, had no qualms with conducting her affairs in person to create ongoing display of her practical ability at the job, keeping down those who would have tried to oppose her.
Later on, as business was expanding further, Solstice was recruited by proxy to the service of a shady matrix figure presenting themself only as Gatekeeper. Despite the ever-expanding operations Solstice was working on setting up, she realised that eventually working her way to to being the queen of a dump would leave her the queen of, well, a dump. Solstice went through all the information she could get on Gatekeeper, and eventually decided that joining his employ was the right decision. Solstice has never seen Gatekeeper in person, but he seems to have an ongoing physical presence through various contacts all around, and promises a steady stream of solid work for solid pay. He set Solstice up to get into the UCAS, where she eventually ended up here in Seattle...
[Concept]
Solstice is a cyber-mage vampire poser. The intended goal with her is to do B&E (and potentially muscle) work with a novel approach in character design that isn't just one of the standard archetype builds/architypal fluff backgrounds.
[Notes]
-Cyber snob negative quality house rules are accounted for, with a karma cost of -6 set for it in the chummer file for it.
-Focus still currently not yet bound.
-Allergy: Solstice gets bad abdomenal cramps, a burning in her throat/mouth, and gets nauseous after ingesting any substance that contains ethanol. As with real-world ethyl alcohol allergies, the allergy is triggered through ingestion, not contact.
- Records on File: See notes below for "Hang Em High" and "The Siren's Wail".
- Bad Rep: See notes below for "MiSINg Persons Report".
Fluff Explanations
---
Cyber-snob: Being from London, Solstice grew up in a community that saw augmentation as a dirty practice altogether, but she's not so blinded as to not see the benefits of augmentation, so it is her belief that she owes it to her body to give herself only the best.
Prejudice: Due to her original home's proximity to Tir na nOg, combined with the fact that her clientele were primarily underpriveleged metas and infected, she's been imbued with a deep-seated distrust of elves and sees them as unfairly "having it all" compared to everyone else.
Spirit Pariah: Being of the Wiccan tradition, she has commited a travesty by wilfully defiling her body in the name of the infected, mutilating it and replacing much of it with dead steel. Solstice has turned herself into a mangled abomination that is a garrish depravity to the spirits that look upon her.

78-07-15 - [Mission] Lost and Found
- Met Uplink, IC-man, Salvatore, Ulf
- Walked out after getting information that the team's plan of operations had been potentially leaked to KE [who happened to also be the target], along with the already known fact that the Johnson+team had shown themseves to have an interest in being less than completely honest about the full nature of the run.
- Received 1 point of notoriety for walking out, and 2 karma for participating in the run through the legwork portion.

78-08-28 [Mission] MiSINg Persons Report
- Met Mnemosyne, Mad Jack
- Job was to return a supposedly kidnapped daughter to her mother, who happened to be a Horizon exec
- Intentionally fragged up the job by stealing away the VIP against the will of the rest of the team, when she learned that the daughter didn't want to go back to her mother because she was a technomancer (cough cough Horizon exec mother)
- Earned the Bad Rep quality for purposefully fucking up the job
- Mnemosyne, Sam, and Mad Jack would probably have serious qualms if they were to run with Solstice again due to her fucking them out of a lot of money.
- SIN and lifestyle burned out of paranoia that she'd get reported to Horizon by the other runners.
78-08-29 [Mission] MisSINg Persons Report [Follow-up]
