Bartender

About

Bartenders serve drinks. They also serve as counselor and crying shoulder to nearly everyone who comes into their joint. They see and hear just about everything, which is why it’s so very important to make his acquaintance and make his tip jar a little heavier. Similar Contacts: Bar/nightclub owner, bouncer, waitress, stripper

Abilities

Top Shelf InfoThese types only talk face to face; this means you are going to have to come down to wherever they work and get a little drunk. For every 2 boxes of stun you take (unresisted) from drinking, gain +1 bonus die to any follow-up contact tests. Lifestyle may or may not cover this.
Loose LipsMany people come into bars for drowning their sorrows. These types can make a test (limit +3 from drinking) to know about any kind of current events. Corporate moves, gang activity, etc etc.
Sink shipsThese types can also make a connection test (limit +5) to spread rumours for the team. Bonus/penalty dice based on how believable or specific the rumour is.
Back RoomThey tend to have a back room of some sort; runner bars will have proper meeting rooms where deckers can go VR and people can talk without fear of eavesdroppers, but even the straightest shooter will have a storage room that you can clear out and put some uncomfortable chairs in.

Examples

NameRoleWhereDescription
BottlesBartenderMatchsticksMost people get a little stunned when they first see the woman that goes by Bottles. It's not because she is strikingly beautiful, nor is it the Blue skin, or her 4 arms. It’s the way she makes the drinks while working. Juggling bottles, perfect pours - multiple at the same time, taking full advantage of her less than standard physique. Unique things: Can train a Bartending performance specialization
RoseBouncerDante'sA burly, professional ork woman with a cynical sense of humour. Currently attending Alcoholics Anonymous, likes chocolate. Unique things: Can get you in to Dante's, which is damned exclusive otherwise - a VIP pass is ‎¥2000/month.
Miss BlissOwnerClub Lush[Description] Unique things: Exceptionally high Charisma (10)
BrunoBartenderRat's NestA once handsome middle-aged ork with salt and pepper hair, maybe in his mid-thirties. This guy runs a watering hole up in the Rat's Nest Neoanarch Commune. Prices are cheap but getting there can be a pain. Bringing your own booze to share is also encouraged; life in the rat's nest is borderline communist. Unique things: as an ex-runner loosely connected to the Hellions, he may have particularly useful shadow connections.

Street Doc

About

Traditional medical treatment, for a shadowrunner, is not always a convenient choice. There’s a great deal of paperwork, after all. It’s times like this when knowing a street doc can be the difference between breathing for another day and becoming ghoul chow.

Loyalty

Loyalty 1 - Just BizYeah, they know your name. If you want anything from this Doc, you’ll need to get to their brick and mortar location to pick it up or hire a courier (see Courier Contacts). They don’t know you well enough to sell you anything Restricted or Forbidden, but they’ll sell you legal medical supplies and patch your sorry hoop up. They won’t be performing any major elective surgeries for you though (IE Not installing any non-life saving ware).
Loyalty 2 - RegularThey’ve probably patched you up a few times, they know you got cred and will pay what you owe. Your doc will be willing to risk selling you some restricted gear or drugs now, so long as you have that cred up front of course. You still need to go to them or hire a Courier to pick whatever it is up. They’ll be willing to put you under the knife for legal augmentations now, but they ain’t risking their hoop to install anything Restricted or Forbidden.
Loyalty 3 - AcquaintanceNow you’ve finally built up some rapport, they’ll be willing to sell you “the good stuff,” even if it is technically Forbidden or Restricted. They’ll even install it for you. You’ll still need to head to them to receive any goods or services though.
Loyalty 4 - BuddyYou’ve been out drinking with this guy, that or you stopped some street vandals from messing up the place a few times. Whatever the reason they like you now. This guy might even make a housecall if it isn’t too far away (same District).
Loyalty 5 - Got Your BackNeed a spot to lay low while you healing from getting almost blown to bits? A lot of Street Docs have a few beds out of sight of the main clinic. Your guy is happy to let you recover on one of those. He’ll also be willing to come to you as long as they are in the same Sprawl.
Loyalty 6 - Friend for LifeFor whatever reason, this person will go the distance for you. If they can get it, they’ll sell it to you. If they can do the thing they will. Now that isn’t saying they will fly to Tahiti just because, but if you make the right argument and cover all the associate costs, it isn’t saying they won’t

Connection

Connection 1 - QuackThis guy probably doesn’t even have a real clinic, but if you can get access to the back room of his apartment he works out of, he might be able to find you some basic street drugs or perform basic first aid. Treat him as having a Tool Kit, Medicine and Tool Kit, First Aid. He only has access to things at 8 Availability and lower, and has no ability/tools to service/install augmentations.
Connection 2 - Street HackWell at least he has a clinic. It might be dingy and not exactly as sanitary as a hospital, but it’ll get most jobs done. He actually even has a bed for you to lie down on. Treat him as having a Shop, Medicine and Shop, First Aid as well as a Tool Kit, Cybertechnology and Toolkit, Biotech. He can do some very basic servicing of augmentations, and can probably manage to install some legal ware into you, assuming you brought it with. He only has access to things at 12 Availability and lower, and Used Grade Augmentations.
Connection 3 - Basic Street DocThis here is a “real” clinic. There is a waiting room, a nursing staff (well only one nurse, but he’s kinda cute) and multiple beds (2-4). Treat her as having a Shop for every skill in the Biotech group except Biotechnology (Tool Kit). They can manage basic service and installation of augmentations. She has ability to get things at 16 Availability and lower, and Used/Standard grade.
Connection 4 - Street Doc (Base recommended for archeatype)A well maintained clinic, good sanitation, staffed with a couple of nurses and a Doc. There are half a dozen beds, full Shops for every skill in the Biotech group. They can manage basic service and installation of augmentations. She has ability to get things at 20 Availability and lower, and Used/Standard/Alphaware grade. She won’t be installing the Alphaware herself, but she can get you an off the books appointment at a clinic that can.
Connection 5 - Established Street DocNow we are talking about someone actually well connected in their field. She knows a lot of other Docs, even ones from fully legal clinics and facilities. Treat her as having a Shop for every skill in the Biotech group except First Aid, when it comes to that they have finally manages to expand enough to have a Facility (ER room). She has ability to get things at 16 Availability and lower, and Used/Standard/Alphaware grade. She has ability to get things at any Availability, and Used/Standard/Alphaware/Betaware grade. She won’t be installing the Betaware herself, but she can get you an off the books appointment at a clinic that can.
Connection 6 - Renowned Street DocWell known in the Shadows or Community, this private clinic has a real OR and ER. They even have an ambulance. The Doc has been cultivating friends in the field for years, they can special order just about anything. Treat them as having a Facility for First Aid and Medicine, and a Shop for Cybertechnology and Biotechnology. He has ability to get things at any Availability, and Used/Standard/Alphaware/Betaware grade. He won’t be installing the Betaware himself, but he can get you an off the books appointment at a clinic that can.

Dr. Ima Healer (3 Connection, 2 Loyalty)

 * As a Hub Contact, you can pick up Dr. Ima Healer for 3 GMP at any time.

Dr. Healer has been practicing medicine on the Streets of Redmond (well Touristville) for ages, at least by Redmond standards. He is somewhere in his early 40s. It is pretty obvious by his clientele that the reason his clinic is rarely harassed is because he is a dues paying member of the mafia. He can patch you up, and as long as he doesn’t suspect ill intent he might even tell you a few things about the mafiosi on the streets of Redmond.
